More Than a Service. A Place to Belong.

From shared meals and joyful activities to vital care and support, every part of The Nicky is designed to help Jewish adults feel connected, valued, and at home.

Social Club

Social Club.

Step into The Nicky’s Centre - a welcoming, purpose-built space where every day is filled with connection, comfort, and care. Four days a week, members gather for a hot, kosher three-course lunch, freshly prepared by Michael Issler’s team, formerly of The JS. We are fully licensed under the Manchester Beth Din, ensuring the highest standards of kashrut are maintained. Our menu is always varied, with vegetarian options and a fresh salad bar daily, while desserts are suitable for diabetics and fresh fruit salad is always available.

Beyond the meals, The Nicky offers a fully accessible transport service across North Manchester, Salford, and Bury, with specially adapted minibuses and a dedicated carer and driver ensuring every journey is safe and supported.

Throughout the year, our centre comes alive with Jewish festivals—model seders, Purim feasts, megillah readings, Chanukah parties, Tu B’shvat celebrations, and Kiddush in the Sukkah—along with birthday and anniversary gatherings that bring families and friends together. Our qualified care team provides a holistic approach to wellbeing, offering not just support but genuine companionship. Every member is treated with dignity, and families can enjoy peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in a safe, nurturing environment. At The Nicky, you’ll find more than just care—you’ll find community, joy, and a true sense of belonging.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels

Each week, Michael Issler’s team, formerly of The JS prepares over 150 kosher three-course meals, delivered twice weekly by dedicated volunteers.

  • Meals are varied, well-balanced, and tailored to individual dietary needs, matching the high standards of our in-house menu.

  • The service is available to members and the wider community for reasons including illness, physical difficulty, or after a hospital stay.

  • Referrals are welcomed from local authorities, the Manchester Jewish Federation, hospitals, or directly from families and individuals.

  • Our volunteers deliver meals in all weathers, often providing a vital social connection as well as nutrition.

The Meals on Wheels service supports both recipients and their families, offering reassurance and practical help when needed most.

  • We provide towels, flannels, soaps, and all toiletries.

  • Users must be able to take their own weight, with assistance from our trained care workers for transfers and support.
