A Community That Feels Like Home

For over 70 years, The Nicky has been a place where Jewish adults of all ages and abilities come together to connect, belong, and thrive.

About Us
More Than a Place to Go.
A Place to Belong
.

The Nicky is Greater Manchester’s Jewish social club for adults of all ages and abilities—a welcoming community built on connection, dignity, and joy. Whether you’re seeking companionship, creative activities, or just a friendly face, you’ll find a warm, inclusive space at The Nicky. Our doors are open to older adults, younger people with learning differences, families, and carers—there are no barriers, only the wish to connect.

We’re not a service or a facility—we’re a vibrant social hub where everyone is treated as an individual. Each day brings freshly prepared kosher meals, uplifting activities, and genuine friendship. Some join us every day, others join us when they can, but everyone leaves feeling lighter and more connected.

Our Story

Our Story

Founded in 1951 as the Jewish Blind Society, The Nicky began as a small act of support for people with visual impairments. Named after Nicky Alliance, whose love of music and community still inspires us today, we’ve grown into one of Greater Manchester’s most trusted and welcoming social clubs.

Our mission is simple: create spaces where adults of all backgrounds and abilities can gather, express themselves, and truly belong. What started as care has become connection — a place shaped by the people who walk through our doors and inspired by Jewish values of togetherness and compassion.
